Community gardens are everywhere in London. Spaces in the city where people learn new skills, complete trainings and qualifications, socialise and enjoy wildlife and plants in an ever-expanding built-up urban environment. Their popularity shows the potential and need for food systems in the city that work with people and nature to produce fresh, nutritious food for all!
The mapping has been completed by the Community Food Growers Network with the aim of producing an interactive online map that can be used as a tool for people to find food growing projects, and so that food growers can find other food growers.
To cover all the brilliant food growing spaces in London would be quite a feat, and so we have started with some of our existing member projects and plan to add to these at a later date.
